Afyon Kocatepe University (AKU), through the initiative of the Faculty of Technology, organized an important information meeting about the “Materials Science Ma(s)ters” project. The event took place in the Ibrahim Kuçükkurt Conference Hall and gathered a large academic audience and students.
The Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Erol, together with the Head of the Department of Metallurgy and Material Engineering, Prof. Dr. Serhat Başpınar, and a faculty member of the same department, Prof. Dr. Şükrü Talaş, shared their knowledge and experiences with the participants.

Prof. Dr. Talaş emphasized that the main goal of the project is to develop a new, interdisciplinary master’s program in materials science and material engineering that meets the needs of the modern economy, labor market, and society. The project also aims to prepare students for work in the industry by offering relevant thesis topics.
The meeting concluded with the Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Erol, presenting a letter of appreciation to Prof. Dr. Şükrü Talaş.
