On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Afyon Kocatepe University (AKÜ) Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and the University of Silesia (Poland), University of Žilina (Slovakia) and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). The protocol signing ceremony was attended by AKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karakaş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Yalçın, and Faculty of Technology Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department Head Prof. Dr. Şükrü Talaş. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Talaş, providing details about the protocol, emphasized its significance in contributing to the international recognition and development of the university and department. The protocol aims to enhance the master’s program in Materials Science, fostering collaboration with the University of Silesia in Katowice, the University of Žilina (Slovakia), and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). The joint program, developed under the Erasmus KA220 HED-Higher Education Programs Development, focuses on industry and student-oriented master’s degrees in Materials Science to establish and develop the program through international collaboration.
