We’re thrilled to share that our educational project “Materials Science Ma(s)ters – developing a new master’s degree,” led by the team of Dr. Joanna Maszybrocka, Dr. Hab. Małgorzata Karolus, Prof. UŚ, Dr. Magdalena Szklarska, Dr. Hab. Tomasz Goryczka, Prof. UŚ, and Mgr. Joanna Stelmaszak, has secured funding from the European Union. This grant of EUR 315,650.00 under the Erasmus+ program (KA220-HED) will drive the development of an innovative, interdisciplinary master’s program in materials engineering.

The primary objective is to elevate the quality of education by creating a curriculum that meets the demands of the modern economy, job market, and society. The project will:

  • Enhance academic teachers’ knowledge of current issues and trends in materials science didactics.
  • Improve teaching competencies through short training visits.
  • Tailor the study program to the needs of the socio-economic environment.
  • Foster innovation and internationalization through collaborative development and blended learning.

Consortium of Partner Universities: University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland (Leader) Afyon Kocatepe University, Turkey; University of Žilina, Slovakia; and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukraine.
