From January 15 to 19, 2024, a Study visit took place at the University of Zilina in Slovakia together with partner universities – the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland), Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi (Turkey) and Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). The study visit took place within the joint project “Materials Science MA(S)TERS – developing a new master’s degree” at the Department of Materials Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The project is co-financed by the European Union within the Erasmus + KA220 HED program.

The study visit included several workshops, brainstorming, but also familiarization with the E-Learning platform MOODLE, which enabled us to gain a deeper understanding and practical application of the use of this educational platform. Discussions around this thematic area contributed to the enrichment of experience and the mutual sharing of valuable knowledge.

We collaborated and exchanged opinions during a dynamic discussion that focused on the translation of the project’s outputs, specifically the curriculum and teaching materials. The collaborative effort involved sharing knowledge and identifying best practices in materials engineering.

In addition, we had the opportunity to see the interactive exhibition of wave processes in the “Land of Waves” with Doc. Ing. Norbert Tajányi, PhD., and as part of the excursion we got a glimpse into the industry and visited the KIA Motors company.
