We are pleased to announce that on June 10, 2025, the results of the international educational project Materials Science Ma(s)ters – developing a new master’s degree (project website) were presented during the First Ukrainian-Polish Interdisciplinary Seminar (UPIS). The event was held in a hybrid format, taking place simultaneously at the university campuses in Lviv and Chorzów, as well as virtually via the ZOOM platform.

More than 70 participants from 16 academic institutions across 6 countries (Austria, Czech Republic, India, Poland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom) took part in the seminar. In total, 33 presentations were delivered, including 15 plenary lectures and 18 poster presentations.

The seminar also served as an opportunity to reflect on the long-standing cooperation between the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, which began in 1994. Among the many collaborative achievements, the Materials Science Ma(s)ters project was highlighted as a key milestone. Developed in partnership with Afyon Kocatepe University (Turkey) and the University of Žilina (Slovakia), the project significantly strengthened academic exchange and contributed to the modernization of teaching content. It was recognized by the European Union as an example of “good practice.”

The project outcomes received considerable attention from seminar participants. We warmly encourage academic teachers and institutions to explore the developed materials and actively implement them in teaching and academic programs. We believe that these resources will contribute to the further advancement of interdisciplinary education in the field of materials science.

The seminar proved to be not only a platform for scientific dialogue but also a source of inspiration for future joint initiatives. We thank all participants for their engagement and look forward to continued collaboration!
